Con el fin de abordar los desafíos y oportunidades que tienen hoy en día las empresas para implementar estrategias y mecanismos de producción que aporten a la sustentabilidad del país, el pasado viernes 20 de noviembre se realizó un Webinar titulado “El Rol de las Empresas en la Circular Economy”, organizado por la revista InduAmbiente.

The event featured the participation of more than 80 spectators, and the exhibition of Guillermo González, head of the Circular Economy office of the MMA; Jorge Cáceres, director of the Center for Environment and Energy of SOFOFA, and Gonzalo Velásquez, manager of Hidronor Chile Environment.

Las temáticas más importantes tratadas en el encuentro fueron las metas de la economía circular para el futuro sustentable de Chile, Ley de Reciclaje vigente, EPR Law., Estrategia Nacional de Residuos Orgánicos, proyecto de Ley de Plásticos de un solo uso, Hoja de Ruta para la Economía Circular 2035, aporte de empresas de tratamiento de residuos (como Hidronor) a la Ley Rep., evaluación del desempeño ambiental de Chile según la OCDE, iniciativas actuales entre el sector público y privado, entre otros.

Finally, the meeting counted with a short round of questions asked by the participants towards the exhibitors, focused on the regulatory barriers that Chile faces to advance towards the fulfillment of the goals set in Circular Economy.

En este sentido, Gonzalo Velásquez, gerente de Medio Ambiente de Hidronor Chile, destacó que “las empresas no deben ver el cumplimiento de la Ley Rep., el DS 148 y otras normativas como límites a sus funciones, sino como oportunidades para mejorar y generar cada día menos residuos en sus procesos productivos”.

The general invitation for companies was to change culture and linear habits that we currently handle. "We must innovate to meet the objectives of Circular Economy in Chile" was the central message of the meeting.
