It is possible to reach the recycling goals expected in our country in a short and medium term, only if all (citizens, companies and public sector) join forces and implement concrete actions to advance from the current 12.5% recycling of household containers and packaging, to 60% (final goal).
More specifically, the latest decree posted establishes specific goals for the recycling of each material: liquid cardboard (60%), metal (55%), paper and cardboard (70%), plastics (45%) and glass (65 %).
In order to achieve this, it is necessary to properly separate each type of household and organic solid waste.
In the event of having specific containers for each type of waste, it must be understood that the color of each container determines the type of material to be deposited. Separate them correctly!:
- Organic coffee
- Yellow: Plastics
- Red: Tetra Pak
- Blue: Paper
- Orange: Oil
- Lead or Black: Cans
- Green: Glass
However, this option is not the only alternative to dispose of recyclable waste, as you can also choose to group them into recycling shafts, or at home separate each waste according to their type and transport them to the nearest containers or recycling points.
