At Hidronor, we firmly believe that waste should not be viewed as a problem, but as an opportunity to generate value. Based on this conviction, we have joined the "Valoriza MáS" program, an initiative promoted by the University of Concepción through its Technological Development Unit (UDT) and supported by Corfo. This initiative seeks to convert the industry's environmental liabilities into commercially viable products, directly contributing to the construction of a circular economy in Chile.
The manufacturing and services industries generate thousands of tons of waste each year, most of which is not properly utilized. The Valoriza Más program aims to change this reality through the development and scaling of innovative technologies—mechanical, chemical, biological, and thermochemical—that transform this waste into useful raw materials for new production processes.
As a leading environmental management company, Hidronor contributes its expertise in waste characterization and recovery, providing key information on volumes, classification, segregation challenges, and costs associated with treatment and logistics. This collaboration is essential to guiding the program's strategies and ensuring that the solutions designed are effective, economically viable, and sustainable over time.
"Valoriza MáS" is a project currently underway in the Biobío Region, with a view to expanding to other regions and even internationally. For Hidronor, being part of this initiative is another step in our commitment to supporting industries in the transition toward responsible production models, where sustainability and innovation become central pillars of development.
With partnerships like this, we reaffirm our role as a key player in waste management in Chile, promoting concrete solutions that protect the environment, foster resource efficiency, and open up new business opportunities based on the principles of the circular economy. ♻️
