Our country is firmly advancing in the process of decarbonizing the energy matrix, migrating towards renewable sources that will contribute to the reduction of a large percentage of the CO2 emissions currently generated by industrial activity, which negatively affects our ozone layer and health of people.

In detail, public policies have taken important measures to reduce the carbon footprint and combat climate change, such as the closure of different coal plants and other actions framed in the Paris Agreement. Thus, Chile set the goal of being carbon neutral by 2050, reaching emissions equivalent to zero.

In relation to the above and given the boom that this theme is having worldwide, the commemoration of the International Day for the reduction of CO2 emissions -every January 28- takes on greater relevance as the key moment of the year to make decisions in favor of of caring for the environment, generating a space for conversation that invites all stakeholders (public and private sectors) to support the fulfillment of this great national objective with concrete actions.

Some initiatives of great value to put into practice in the near future are:

  • Improve and increase energy efficiency.
  • Increase the use of clean fuels and renewable energy.
  • Improve the efficiency of combustion processes.
  • Modify consumer trends through good environmental education.
  • Use nature-based solutions to reduce emissions.

At Hidronor we continue to work towards this goal, contributing to environmental sustainability with our integrated services in the treatment, management and safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste.

Let's contribute to the environment with sustainable actions!
