This "Regional Solid Waste Strategy" is part of the general objective of the "National Waste Policy" promoted by the Ministry of the Environment (MMA), relating to preventing the generation of solid waste, encouraging its recovery, as well as its proper management, also adjusting to the scope of the "Regional Development Strategy 2012-2021" promoted by the Metropolitan Regional Government of Santiago (GORE-RMS).
