For some time now, graphene has been talked about as the possible material of the future thanks to its incredible properties such as: flexibility, resistance, conduction and weight, among many others. It is the thinnest compound known to man with only one atom thick and it is revolutionizing the technology industry, medicine and now the circular economy, since research on this material is being directed towards the production of packaging, which could generate a true revolution in the hands of a lighter and more resistant material.

To do this, at the beginning of October the European Commission led the Graphene Project in which he included our country to carry out tests. This project sought explore possible applications in 3 areas: connectivity, flexibility and innovation in packaging. In the latter, the study is proposed on how the Graphene could develop anticorrosive coatings and be a contribution to reduce the carbon footprint in the supply chain of packaging, in order to achieve greater sustainability and possible rate increases of recycling.
