An important organization highlighted that private investment projected to June -for the 2023-2027 five-year period- had improved by US$ 9,731 million compared to the estimate for the first quarter.

Specifically, private and public plans in the energy category will reach US$ 3,532 million at the end of this year, 39.2% higher than those forecast in March. In mining, meanwhile, investment will reach US$4,459 million this year, according to data as of June, a figure almost 20% higher than that estimated in March for 2023.

However, the same entity indicates that, despite the progress, the amount expected for this year will be 25% less than that of 2022. In addition, together with the US$ 11,057 million projected for 2024, the figures are well below the average. of the last 10 years.

It should be added that the cadastre of projects contemplates, as of June 30, 2023, a stock of 915 private and state initiatives and on this basis, the investment to materialize during 2023-2027 would amount to US$ 52,277 million.
