For many years, industrial activity in our country, added to the lack of regulations associated with the treatment and disposal of contaminated land -Chile is the only OECD country that does not have it-, has caused the generation and proliferation of thousands of hectares of contaminated land.

In fact, according to the latest report issued on the State of the Environment, by 2020 in Chile there were 3,360 sites (active and passive) with the potential presence of pollutants, of which 30% comes from mining activity.

To deal with this problem, as a company we have been present in the national industry with services that have contributed to environmental sanitation for more than 25 years, highlighting, among others, the remediation and restoration of contaminated land, with which we help reduce the main impacts of industrial activity caused by the dispersion, spillage or transfer of hazardous substances that finally accumulate in the soil.

Thanks to this service, we contribute to the circular economy of the country since, once treated, these lands are in optimal conditions to be used again for industrial, agricultural, tourist, and residential purposes, among others.

Regarding tailings management, we treat them as waste so that they stop generating potential risks to the population and the environment, ensuring their physical and chemical stability.

How do we do it?

We transport contaminated waste to our facilities in Antofagasta, where we stabilize it and later transfer it to our security deposit, which has basal waterproofing for safe confinement.

We invite you to delve into this subject by reviewing the interview conducted with our Sales and Marketing manager, Juan Andrés Salamanca, in the last Special Edition of Circular Economy and Recycling, developed by Sustainable Report.

Let's be aware! Let's take care of our soils.
