At Hidronor the wastewater is reused for our own production processes

Despite the increase of rainfall in recent weeks, as a result of the climatic phenomenon "La Niña" that is affecting our country, we still have one of the most serious water crises in history. This is due to the fact that, in recent years, Chile has experienced a significant decrease in precipitation that is advancing from the north of the country, especially affecting the fourth and fifth regions, and the central zone, which keeps the country in a state of "hydrological emergency”.

However, the tendency for the use and the need of this resource projects that the demand will not be reduced in a short term, but quite the opposite: it will increase, due to the fact that Chile has one of the most dynamic economies in Latin America, which requires that industries must implement sustainable alternatives for the use and acquisition of water for industrial processes.

Aware of this situation, and in favor of our commitment to the environment, at Hidronor we not only recover and revalue waste for it to be reused by other companies, but also benefit from some of them, as Liquid Industrial Waste (RILs) to use in our own production processes, once they have been treated.

The treatment of these liquids, that are received at Hidronor as hazardous liquid waste, such as RILs from the processes and contaminated water, is carried out through physical-chemical processes to reduce the hazardous components by controlling the process parameters, with which we minimize the use of industrial water.

We currently have three operational treatment centers across the country, distributed in Antofagasta, Pudahuel and Concepción, and in all of them we implemented the same process, seeking to strengthen our commitment to the environment and extend a hand to the serious water crisis that our country is going through.º

We have to be conscious, let's take care of the water!
