Burnt tires, a latent threat to the environment and the community.

LinkedIn

The toxic compounds that tires generate in the environment and the community when they are incinerated or caused by a fire, can be the cause of serious diseases.

This was explained by Héctor Jorquera, academic from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Bioprocesses of the Pontificia Universidad Católica and a specialist in atmospheric pollution, who indicated that “high concentrations of smoke produce risks and short- and long-term effects, such as respiratory diseases and in the worst case, cancer ”.

Some compounds from tires such as polycyclic hydrocarbons are considered toxic to human health, which added to soot and high concentrations of smoke can cause irreparable damage.

For this reason, Hidronor provides advice and services for the correct conditioning, storage and final disposal of waste, achieving adequate prevention to prevent damage to the environment.
