At Hidronor Chile, in 2025 we are taking a new step in our commitment to sustainability by joining as partners of Chilean Plastics Pact, a key initiative to move towards a circular economy and more responsible management of this material in the country.
As part of this process, we recently participated in the Pact's Year-End Milestone, an event that brought together representatives from the public, private and civil society sectors to assess the progress made and project the challenges of the Roadmap to 2030.
During the meeting, the results of the 2019–2025 cycle were reviewed, a period in which a reduction of more than 75,000 tons of virgin plastic was achieved, along with the development of more than 60 technical documents that today strengthen decision-making and the transformation of the industry towards more circular models.
Looking ahead to the next period, the Chilean Plastics Pact maintains an ambitious agenda with clear and measurable goals:
• 90% of packaging is reusable, recyclable or compostable 📦♻️
• 33% effective recycling of packaging placed on the market
• 25% recycled content incorporated into new products
• Environmental education as a new strategic focus, promoting cultural changes and greater citizen awareness between 2026 and 2030.
At Hidronor, we firmly believe that collaboration is essential to move towards responsible plastics management and more sustainable development for Chile. 🌱
