Preliminary draft of the Rep. Law establishes goals for the collection and recovery of lubricating oils: 90% in 10 years

On December 3, 2020, published in the Official Gazette the preliminary draft decree of collection goals and valuation of lubricating oils (immersed in the Rep. Law). the same establishes an initial goal of 50% appreciation for the first year, with a progressive increase until reaching a 90% recovery and appreciation at the tenth year of validity of the decree. In addition, it was defined that the goals and other associated obligations will enter into force 24 months after their publication.

As project guidelines, the decree proposes to regulate all types of lubricating oils: from those introduced to the national market by themselves, even those who enter the country contained in a vehicle or machinery of any type, and will classify them into two categories: recoverable oils and non-recoverable oils. The first are characterized by leaving a residue that can be collected at the end of its useful life, as opposed to the seconds that are fully consumed or not they are contained in closed systems. For the purposes of the decree, only the The former are subject to collection and recovery goals.
