Let's reduce our carbon footprint to protect the ozone layer!

LinkedIn

Global temperature increase and the thinning of the ozone layer have been one of the most important environmental dilemmas in recent decades. For this reason, in 1987 the Montreal Protocol was signed with the aim of encouraging atmospheric care and in commemoration of this act, the UN General Assembly proclaimed September 16th the "International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer”.

Even though the hole that existed in 2020 in the ozone layer is completely closed, experts from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) have emphasized that the size of the ozonosphere may vary over time, therefore it is always important to generate focused measurements for its care to avoid reopening, as to also avoid very strong ultraviolet rays to reach the earth's surface.

To encourage the implementation of actions that support this goal, there are several groups in our country that are committed to reduce the carbon footprint that is responsible for the deterioration of the ozone layer and the temperature to increase at a global level. Its focus is to promote recycling and the use of sustainable means of transport, among other key actions. In addition, companies play a fundamental role in this scenario as they must take responsibility for their waste in order to avoid increasing damage to the environment.

In this sense, at Hidronor we contribute to this cause with the proper management, treatment and final disposal of waste. In these processes, we are conducting the energy recovery from biogas from household waste, to inject it into the energy distribution grid, given its boom as a versatile and essential renewable energy source that contributes to energy security and the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Let's take care of our planet!
